Virginia’s men’s basketball team faced better competition in Florence on Monday after a dominant performance in Rome on Saturday in the opening game of the exhibition tour in Italy, with a 52-point lead over Stella Azzurra. . The Cavaliers, in his 75–54 loss to the Razorbacks over the weekend, faced the Orange 1 Basket Club who were with Arkansas. UVA handled business again and in Italy he improved to 2-0 and over the Orange 1 basket he won 71-41.
Tony Bennett turned over management of the team to associate head coach Jason Williford, who managed head coaching duties during the game. Reece Beekman, Isaac McKneely, and Ben Vander Plas were his three inactive players in his UVA for this game, sitting as part of Virginia’s rotation system for the exhibition tour.
UVA went with the first five: Kihei Clark, Tain Murray, Armaan Franklin, Jaden Gardner, and Francisco Cafaro.
The Orange1 Basket struggled for the Hoos early on as Virginia held a slight 15-11 advantage at the end of the first quarter. But in the second period, the Cavaliers stepped up their game on both ends of the floor, holding the Orange 1 basket to just 5 points in the quarter and he built a sizeable 35–16 lead at halftime.
Isaac Trout was great off the bench, scoring 12 points, four rebounds and two assists in the first half alone. This is a trout working hard on glass for putback.
Virginia led 58-29 at the end of the third quarter and won 71-41 to remain undefeated in Italy.

The Cavaliers will wrap up their exhibition tour in Italy with two games in Rapallo on August 18th and 19th.
