Hall of Famer Steve Young Takes Attention lamar jacksonWhose Voluntary first week deadline Sign contract extension It’s getting closer.
He even went so far as to say the star QB shouldn’t rush to sign with the Baltimore Ravens.
“I can’t wait for someone to train Lamar Jackson in a sophisticated passing game,” Young said. “I think he’s going to be the best player in the history of the game. But the Ravens keep doubling down on this, so he keeps getting held back year after year by the Ravens.” [rushing] What Lamar Jackson is good at. Without a doubt, he is the best at that. But that’s not the championship football they need to play. That’s not what Lamar Jackson wants to be. “
“Lamar Jackson is the perfect player. [not being trained] Being a sophisticated passer,” Young added.
On Friday’s “Speak For Yourself,” Emmanuel Acho explained why the idea that Baltimore was holding back Jackson just wasn’t true, and everything the organization did to develop a former NFL MVP pointed out.
“[The Ravens] Helped Lamar Jackson become the first unanimous MVP of its kind…becoming the quarterback who won by the highest percentage in quarterback history… [and] “The team that did all this for Lamar Jackson, are you going to tell me they’re holding him back?
“The team with the tight end and the first round pick (Hayden Hurst), the McKee Award-winning tight end (Mark Andrews) and the Biletnikov [Award] Winning receiver (Tylan Wallace), first-round receiver (Marquis Brown), first-round receiver (Rashod Bateman) didn’t invest in Lamar Jackson?”

Emmanuel Acho, James Jones, Ric Bucher and David Helman have responded to Young’s comments.
Jackson has averaged 2,922 passing yards, 26 passing touchdowns, 9.3 interceptions and a 100.1 quarterback rate (65% of passes completed) over the past three seasons. He also averaged 992.7 rushing yards and his 5.3 rushing touchdowns per season in the same period.
On “The Herd,” Colin Cowherd also denied the argument that the Ravens didn’t endorse Jackson.
“Look at the draft picks,” Cowherd said. “What Baltimore has done since Lamar Jackson entered the league is very remarkable….If you have really talented people, I don’t think they’re going to change what they are. I think it’s trying to improve and support what’s there.. to what [Jackson] teeth. Don’t try to make him what he isn’t.I don’t know the level of sophistication of the attack, but there are arguments [that] No team in the league has drafted more players than the Ravens drafted to help Lamar. “

Colin Cowherd believes the Baltimore Ravens should continue to use Jackson the way he’s done since he was a rookie.
The Ravens are gearing up for a comeback season after finishing the 2021-22 season with an 8-9 record, fittingly at the bottom of the AFC North. Jackson suffered an ankle injury in December, and Baltimore went 0-4 in games Jackson did not start, losing the final six games of the season.
